Behavioral Health Support Staff (MA/Reception)

Position Responsibilities:
● Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
● Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues
● Optimize provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
● Keep the reception area ready for each working day, and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of the business hours.
● Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
● Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records
● Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims
● Obtaining patient authorization for medical records releases (HIPAA compliance)
● Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply ordering
Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, obtaining vital sign's, managing phone calls, managing emails, and maintaining patient records with accuracy and confidentiality. Your responsibilities may extend beyond simply managing the front desk to encompass a wide range of tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School diploma
- 5 years relevant experience and/or training
- 1+ years experience with EMR or EHR systems (eCW experience is a bonus)
- 1+ years experience with patient scheduling
- Excellent organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction
- Able to work collectively with administration, providers and team members
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a medical setting
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in insurance billing
- Active CMA or CNA license
- Highly ambitious with a "self-starter" personality
- Background in a healthcare with a patient-facing position
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
